The LOFT Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of an exhibit of new paintings entitled Ride Into Valley by Bozeman, Montana-based artist Jacqueline Rieder Hud. In her first solo exhibit at The Loft Gallery, Ms. Hud mines the self-expressive potential of figurative painting, working in the Expressionist manner and bordering on the Fauvist school. Using the media of acrylic, collage and crayon on canvas, she creates lush dreamscapes with loose, streaming, abstract brush strokes in riotous colors. Her rhythmic compositions vibrate with energy, sweeping up the viewer in their vivid swells. With an interplay of animal imagery and philosphers' quotes, Hud probes the nexus of nature and the unconscious.
